Patient Billing & Rates

IPA Physio has been intentionally structured to place top priority on providing high-quality patient-centered care. Our company is designed to serve those who are struggling to find solutions elsewhere. Learn more about what factors into your visit. We believe that the increasingly restrictive in-network, insurance-based PT model doesn’t align with our patient-centered Functional Manual Therapy (FMT) Treatment Model.

Why Work with IPA Physio

Choosing IPA Physio means selecting superior care which can also save you time and money. Please watch our video and read on for more details. Feel free to contact us with any questions. We’re here to help you make an educated and informed decision about your physical therapy needs.

IPA Physio operates as an out of network provider because of our mission to provide the highest quality methodical physical therapy. The increasingly restrictive medical business model necessary for an “in-network” insurance-based PT practice is not aligned with our mission and it does not support our patient-centered Functional Manual Therapy (FMT) treatment model.

Selecting IPA Physio as your physical therapy provider is a choice for higher quality of care, and it can actually save you money! Watch our video and read the information sections below. Call us with any questions. We want you to make an educated and informed decision about where to seek physical therapy.

The Out-of-Network Advantage

As an out-of-network provider, IPA Physio is able to provide high quality physical therapy in the context of one-hour, one-on-one treatment sessions. We are not constrained by contracts or any third-party requirements that would limit the time we spend with clients or influence the care we provide. This is a unique advantage. At IPA Physio there are no financial surprises and no restraints on your care.

Most of the time, when you see a Physical Therapist (PT), your insurance benefits will not kick in until you have met your deductible. Deductibles are inversely related to premiums – the lower the premium, the higher the deductible (and vice versa). Deductibles are typically in the range of $2,000-$5,000 for an individual and $3,000-$8,000 for a family (though this varies significantly from one insurance plan to the next). Even if your deductible is $2,000, this means you will be required to pay $2,000 completely out-of-pocket at an in-network clinic before your insurance contributes anything. It is important to understand that you will end up being retroactively billed by the in-network clinic for the full cost of all of those appointments, which is your responsibility to pay.

Compare Costs

In-network PTs have contracts with particular insurance companies to accept discounted rates. This rate is passed on to you, the consumer. However, to compensate for decreased reimbursement, these in-network facilities typically see more patients for a shorter duration of time. Frequently, the majority of your time is with an unlicensed “PT Aide” watching you perform simplistic exercises that you could do on your own time.

At IPA Physio, we provide one-hour, one-on-one care with highly trained manual therapists, prioritizing superior results and recovery speed compared to traditional in-network clinics.Until you meet your deductible, this model will not save you much (if any) money. And the quality of care that you receive will not be equal to the care you will receive at IPA Physio.

While the impact of deductibles varies, our approach ensures value, quality, and transparent pricing for your physical therapy needs.  We hold ourselves to a high standard and expect results that are superior to and quicker than what you will experience in a traditional in-network PT clinic. If you are unsure of what your deductible is, contact us and we can reach out to your insurance company and get all of the information for you to help you understand the cost analysis between your likely in-network and out-of-network costs for physical therapy.

Quality over Quantity

If you happen to have a low deductible, or are in a situation where your deductible has been met (i.e. post-operative), then it will likely cost less per visit to go to an in-network provider.

Keep in mind that the time spent with a licensed therapist will also be less.

If you compare the price you will pay for three 20-minute treatment sessions at an in-network facility to the price you will pay for one one-hour treatment session at IPA Physio, the cost differential will be minimal on a per-minute basis before even accounting for the possibility of reimbursement from your insurance company.

Our Billing Process

We accept insurance as an “out-of-network” provider. This means you can see us for physical therapy purposes. Even though we do not participate in your insurance network, we are fully credentialed by insurance companies to submit claims and help you get reimbursed for our services.

As a complimentary service, IPA Physio handles all necessary paperwork and we will submit reimbursement claims to your insurance company on your behalf after each session. Unlike an in-network provider, we collect payment-in-full at the time of service and help you get reimbursed directly from your insurance company (prices vary by location). Depending on your benefits and eligibility, you may receive reimbursement checks covering a portion or the full cost of your treatment.

If something is wrong, schedule an appointment with us immediately.

IPA Physio clinics acknowledge your rights as a patient, and we are here to help educate you on those rights!

Direct Access & Your Patient Rights

This can depend on your state’s specific considerations.

Your Patient Rights

Regardless of whether you’ve consulted with your physician, or plan to, you have the legal right to choose your own physical therapist at a clinic that provides the highest quality of care.
