Dallas Frequently Asked Questions

I haven’t been to IPA Physio Dallas in over 60 days. Why is another initial evaluation required if I am coming in for the same issue as before?

The Physical Therapy practice act in Texas mandates that we perform a re-evaluation at least every 60 days to determine the progress made and the need for continued care.. Typically a case will be discharged if the patient has not been seen for over 60 days. After a patient has been discharged, we are required to do a new evaluation. There is an exception if the follow-up visit is planned and scheduled for 2-3 months in the future at the time of the last visit. To avoid having to incur the cost and time of another initial evaluation, be sure to clearly communicate and schedule out a follow-up visit at the time of your last visit.
